Cheshire Scouts trip to Alton Towers Saturday 23 October 2010 This event, which takes place during the Alton Towers Halloween event is open to members of the Scout, Explorer Scout, Scout Network & Scout Active Support sections of Cheshire. Ticket prices are discounted and for every 10 Child tickets booked you get an Adult ticket FREE! The Halloween event sees a number of special attractions and the thrill rides open till late to ride in the dark! Please make transport arrangements locally, if not within your groups, jointly with Explorer Scout Units or contact your District team to see if provision could be made by the District. FAQs - Child/Adult Ratios, Alton Towers specify that Children under 12 must be accompanied by an Adult (Over 18).
- Uniform, please wear your group scarf for identification securely fastened with a woggle, if you have a group tee-shirt or polo it would be appropriate to wear these but full uniform is not required.
- Clothing, there is not a great deal of cover around the Park, please be prepared for rain at all times and wear sensible footwear.
- Food & Money, pocket money for food drinks/souvenirs may be required, you shouldn’t need more than £10.00, there are ATMs around the park as well as popular fast food vendors, shops etc. Alternatively you can take a day sack with packed lunch and a drink.
- Park Opening/Closing Times, gates open at 9.30am, rides and attractions open at 10.00am. All thrill rides are open until the extended park closure time of 9.00pm, plus others (check Halloween event park map on arrival).
- Getting to Alton Towers, click here for directions, the postcode for "sat nav" is ST10 4DB. Please note there is nominal parking charge of £5 for those choosing to travel by car. However, parking is free for coaches, minibuses and those with disabilities.
