Hill Walking Training or Assessment: £50 29th-31st October 2010
This is a residential course, based at the Welsh Scout Council Centre at Cornel, or at Yr Hafod in Snowdonia. The fee includes all accommodation and food from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon.
The course will teach the skills that you need to be assessed for a Terrain 1 Hill Walking Permit. This permit would allow you to take Scouts, Explorer Scouts on to the hills up to 800m, where no scrambling is required, in Summer Conditions and less than 3 hours from a road. Full definition in POR. There may be geographic limits depending on the applicant’s experience.

Applicants should have a minimum of 18 hill walking days in the last three years
Applicants will be assessed to WGLA standard.
